What is alcoholism?
Alcoholism is either a mental or physical addiction to alcohol that is an obsession or a chemical dependance. You do not have to drink every day to be an alcoholic. Everyone experiences alcoholism in different ways as no two people are alike. The first sign of being alcoholic is that your life has become unmanageable. This could mean a variety of things to different people and only you can judge this. You can ask yourelf questions such as:
The above questions do not mean that you are suffering from alcoholism but simply are a guide for you to consider. If you feel you have any of these symptoms of alcolism why not either try to control your drinking yourself, or seek more professional help like AA its free and you can meet privately with others who have the same questions and concerns. AA has helped millions stop drinking one day at a time. Should AA seem to much of a first step perhaps trying to stop on your own with The Cure by Chris Prentiss may be something you want to try first privately. You can also consider a short or long term rehab.
